Parents As Partners

The Parents As Partners program offers every parent of a Middle School Student the opportunity to meet with their child's team of teachers on a monthly basis to discuss academic and curriculum issues.
Program Goals:
Improve communication between parents and faculty
Increase parental involvement in their child's educational curriculum
Enhance student learning
Program Levels of Involvement:
Program Coordinator
Team Coordinator
Faculty
Team Parents
Team meetings are held during the school day according to team availability. The schedule is created through the Guidance Office and sent to the Program Coordinator for distribution.
Each Team Coordinator will produce a monthly newsletter that will be sent home with your child. The current newsletters are also available on the "Team Notes" page of this website.
Another helpful tool is Schoolnotes.com. Here, parents can look at daily/weekly assignments for a particular class. Visit www.schoolnotes.com, enter "11706" and select "Bay Shore Middle School" for the list of teachers who provide more detailed information of their curriculum. If your child’s teacher(s) is(are) not listed, please encourage him/her to utilize this tool which will help you as a partner in your child’s education.
